WELCOME AFRICAN AMERICANS

AFRICAN-AMERICANS, WELCOME TO OUR GREATNESS. We respect you, we love you, and we embrace you. We welcome you to Republican Populism.

Democrats have taken advantage of African-Americans for decades. You have no reason to continue as a Democrat. None whatsoever.

Listen to what most African-American pastors preach at church every Sunday. It is very similar to our entire vision; everything from our core social and spiritual values to addressing the real economic needs of America’s working people. What are the African-American pastors preaching?

  1. There needs to be a tremendous emphasis on living one’s life according to the Word of God. Love God and worship God.
  2. Do not break the Ten Commandments.
  3. Do not be a drunk or a drug addict. Do not loiter on the streets and around convenience stores.
  4. Do not swear, fight, or join gangs.
  5. Do not get pregnant out of wedlock, and certainly do not have an abortion. Instead get married, raise a family, respect education, and work hard.
  6. Care for your elderly parents and grandparents, and raise your children to be respectful and responsible adults.
  7. Participate in charity for the poor, in keeping with the teachings of Jesus. Support public policy that helps the poor.
This is also the Republican Populist vision.

This value system is to be respected. It’s not about living off of government or family members. It’s not about protesting, sexual liberation, substance abuse, radical feminism, or any other number of Democratic themes.

So why are African-Americans usually Democrats?

Easy answer, it’s because the mainstream of the Republican Party is a core group of wealthy investors and corporate Presidents, and they want to shift the tax burden away from themselves. They have corrupted the Republican Party, which was originally organized by Abolitionists to end slavery and establish a free and better life for African-Americans. The original perspective of the Republican Party is much closer to our vision.

Let’s take the good that the Republican Party offers, and throw out the bad.

Let’s bring our whole society back to the core Republican vision of personal responsibility and being a mature adult, and then there will be less need for government spending for social programs.

And in the meantime, maintain social programs for those in need, in keeping with the teachings of Jesus.

And in order for this to happen, the tax code needs to encourage it, not penalize the working class. President Trump has taken a baby step in this direction, but it’s not enough. Housing must be affordable, interest rates on credit cards must be dramatically lowered, and wages must be fair. Insurance and day care costs must not be crippling.

This founder of the Welcome Movement has been poor most of my life. I am a White man from Bergen County, New Jersey. I was so crushed by debt and child support costs that I had to move to Newark in 2007, just to find more affordable housing. I married an African-born woman in 2014. We have one child together, plus her older daughter. We lived in Newark, New Jersey until 2017.

While in Newark, I was the most feared activist in the city. I wrote and secured the passage of the strongest Rent Control Ordinance ever adopted in a major American city. I know the needs of the working class. They are central to the concept of Republican Populism. My financial situation is only slightly improved. I have returned to Bergen County, but I am still locked out of home ownership by unfair mortgage rules.

There are three primary differences between Republican Populism and traditional Republican theory, and I believe that all three resonate with the majority of African-Americans, especially the older generations.
  1. Address the real economic needs of families, so that it is realistic for people and families to live and prosper as mature and responsible adults
  2. A re-emphasis on traditional values and Faith, and a unity of purpose among the major religions to have values and spirituality matter in our society
  3. A complete rejection of Social Darwinism, which is the smug perspective that “the system works. If you plan your life right, you will succeed, and if you don’t, you will fail. If you fail, it’s your own fault, so don’t come crying to the government for assistance”. There are thousands of African-Americans who have succeeded and moved to the suburbs, and who have adopted this attitude. Many vote Republican. If I am speaking to you, you are voting Republican for the wrong reason. If you are offended, I offer no apology. We are populists, and populists must address the real needs of the people.
I know from living in Newark that the concentration of poverty in the cities is holding people back in many ways; it’s not simply their own fault. We have to be critical of Social Darwinism across the board, whether it’s coming from a privileged White person who’s never been poor, or from an African-American who has succeeded, left the city, and moved to the suburbs. There has to be real public policy change to help real people.

The people of this nation have been offered a false dichotomy; either the system needs to be changed, or people need to be more responsible. The dichotomy is false because both conditions are true. It’s not one or the other. There is no question that everyone needs to be more responsible, including a whole lot of White people. And there is no question that “the system” needs to work better for those in the inner city neighborhoods, or otherwise marginalized.

There absolutely has to be a safety net of social services, and there also absolutely has to be a tremendous resurgence of personal responsibility, so that more people are prosperous and self-reliant, and less people are in need of assistance. These are not two separate competing options, or two separate visions.

We are not Socialists. We fully embrace capitalism, and we want everyone to prosper. We are pushing for the real reforms within the Republican Party. We are going to make it work for everyone.

Democratic thinkers, including most artists and entertainers, want to increase the separation of church and state, and reduce the influence of Faith and Faith-associated values. As our whole society moves further from the Word of God, we move further from the main teaching of Jesus, which is to help the poor. Most African-Americans know that, and so do I.

As society becomes less spiritual, there’s less support for helping the poor. Instead people are increasingly blaming the poor, and wanting less and less to assist them. This is called Social Darwinism, and it’s very dangerous. Social Darwinism includes the rejection of Faith-based values that encourage helping the poor. Exposing this paradigm is a major mission of the Welcome Movement.

This whole country just needs to wake up, and grow up. The party is over. Many people are immature and irresponsible. We want to sleep all day and party all night, and we are in constant pursuit of sexual adventures or substance abuse. Working, education, and family responsibilities are shunned.

These social trends are intersecting with negative economic trends. Over the past 10 years, the stagnation of wages in combination with the enormous rise in the costs of rent, day care, and medical has just destroyed all hope in the urban centers. These costs are not just keeping people down, they are reversing social mobility. People originally from higher income areas are being forced into the cities, and this is called gentrification.

These trends are destroying even the hope and dream of someday saving enough money to move to a better neighborhood, with better schools and safer streets. And with that destruction of hope comes a political decision, and that is the decision to be a Socialist, to be a protestor, and to participate in identity politics. We are the opposite. We don’t protest, instead we preach unity, cooperation, and a sense of collective purpose.

The Democrats don’t want to reverse the economic situation, because as people’s real economic needs are addressed, they are less likely to vote Democratic. The more people are stuck as renters, the more they vote Democrat. The more people are poor, the more they vote Democrat. The higher the population density becomes, the more people vote Democrat.

Wake up folks, the Democratic Party is just using you for your vote, and what they really care about is promoting all manners of sexual liberation, substance abuse, protesting, and artistic expression. They ridicule family values, and they work to reduce the influence of God in our society. The Democrats organize powerful city and county political machines whose focus is simply to keep the status quo, and get themselves re-elected. I dealt with them in Newark for years. They are beyond useless. Wherever the Republican Party is non-competitive, the Democratic leadership is more interested in campaign contributions from business interests than the needs of the people. They effectively become the establishment Party, and the mass of the people drifts towards Socialism and protesting. That’s what is happening in city after city in America, not just in Newark.

There hasn’t been a viable Republican alternative. The Republicans have been focused on maxing out the economics of the wealthiest people and their corporations. And that problem is exactly why the Welcome Movement has been established, and exactly why the Republican Populist platform has been lain out.

If the reader has any doubt that Republican Populism really is about helping the poor, the reverse political scenario to what I described is also true. The more that people are helped economically and uplifted, the more likely they are to vote Republican. The more that renters can buy houses, the more they will be to vote Republican. The more that people’s personal finances are secure, with a living wage and less credit card debt, the more likely they will vote Republican. The Republican Party has every political incentive to actually help people, and then get your vote.

This will strike a lot of people as a complete epiphany. It should. What we are doing is extremely dangerous. We are releasing the genie from the bottle, and we know it. It’s not an accident. We can and will change the Republican Party. The realization will go national that actually helping people economically means they will be more likely to vote Republican. Our reforms are shocking, and listed in the right column of our home page. These include housing and economic reforms. Some Republican leaders won’t like some of our reforms. Our mission will be challenging. We need your support.

The Democratic Party is elitist. When people here that word, elitist, they think of cultural and intellectual elitism. But it’s more than that. Elitism is a snobbiness that embraces political correctness, but actually loathes the idea that the urban poor should have housing opportunities in their town, and send their children to the same public schools. The most vocal White liberals are exactly this kind of hypocrite. They embrace zoning policies that keep the poor out of their privileged public schools while flying rainbow flags on their front porches, and complaining on social media about “White privilege”, or about poor White Republicans living in trailer homes somewhere in mid-America. This snobbiness maxes itself out in upscale liberal suburban communities. Maplewood and South Orange come to mind, for those familiar with New Jersey. Every blue state has comparable communities.

Eventually the two political Parties are going to pivot 90 degrees. There will be one party that is elitist. It will attract all the economic and zoning snobs, and all the atheists, and everyone with an elitist cultural and intellectual perspective. That will be the Democratic Party. The other party will be populist and for the common man, touting economic changes to uplift the poor, the working class, and the middle class. It will be about values and structure, and it will challenge the elitists. It will be a little gritty and scruffy, and filled with attitude and determination. No problem, you know where I am from. I have tons of that Jersey attitude.

As the Parties each pivot 90 degrees, there are Republicans who will support rent control, a $15 minimum wage, limiting credit card interest rates to 10 points over the prime rate, and creating non-profits to provide affordable day care. The greed in the day care industry is second to nothing, and it’s off the political radarscope of the urban Democratic political machines. Not here, it’s high on our radar scope. And the main reason costs are high is the insurance industry, lawyers and the lack of tort reform.

We’ve looked at the cost of modular homes, and we know they can be plopped onto new foundations on vacant lots in urban centers. Good clean single-family houses for purchase can be way more affordable than most people imagine is possible. Wait until you see just how cheap this kind of housing can be provided. The Republicans are going to adopt the pre-fab affordable housing plan because it won’t cost taxpayers a dime. Theses houses will be sold off as affordable housing for just more than the cost to build them, and the mortgages will be way less than existing rents for the buyers. The housing miracle is coming. Watch as it comes.

This is something that only Republicans would ever do, because more urban families purchasing homes means less urban families voting Democrat. So the Democrats just won’t do it. Instead they’ll keep people down and out, farm them for votes, and subject them with identity politics to constantly nudge them towards fearing Republicans and mistrusting White people in general. The more people are divided and the more social strife there is in America, the more the Democratic Party benefits. It’s all very condescending.

Their real intent is to use African-American voters to create a large enough political consensus to advance the agenda of the artists and entertainers. We know some of these artists and entertainers are African-Americans, and we are not attempting to secure their support. It’s the average African-American we want, and especially African-Americans of Faith.

Back to the housing plan. People all over America are going to see that Republicans are creating affordable housing at no cost to the taxpayers. I am posting all the details on this website. This is a major proposal, and it’s going national. It’s going to be huge.

The mainstream Republican Party is too ignorant of the real needs of working people to understand this. All their political strategists are just blind to this. They are distant, aloof, and wrapped up in their own brain-dead plans for a flat tax or a national sales tax. They are not from Newark, and they want nothing to do with Newark. And that’s why the Welcome Movement has begun. And that’s why the principles of Republican Populism have been lain out on the website.

And it’s not about getting people to vote Republican, because that is counter-productive unless the real direction of the Republican Party is shifted to addressing the needs of working people, whether they are poor rural Whites in red Counties, or struggling urban minorities in the urban centers. It’s about real reform within the Republican Party, and real programs to uplift people. It’s about Republican Populism.

We want to run Republican candidates as a Republican Populist ticket, and we want as many as these candidates as possible to be urban and rural minorities who share this vision. We are going to challenge anyone who is useless in the Republican Primaries, as well as any Democrat in the general election.

Remember the main political battle lines: the Democrats care mostly about promoting all manners of sexual liberation, substance abuse, protesting, and artistic expression. They continue to ridicule family values, and reduce the influence of God in our society. And then anyone who doesn’t agree with their fanatical worldview is blasted as a racist, a homophobe, a sexist, or is just a stupid ignorant person who should be “unfriended” or removed from their social circles. I dealt with this in Newark repeatedly, from “the protest community”. Many people in the protest community couldn’t stand that I was a housing advocate AND a conservative. They hated my politics then, and they were glad that I left Newark. They are just now realizing that they can’t lead the housing movement without me and my former website. And now I have a plan to bring the federal government into Newark and build thousands of units of affordable housing, at no cost to the taxpayer.

If you are a minority in an urban area, and you feel that I am speaking to you, you need to do much more than simply support Republican Populism. We’d like your testimonial, video or written, to post on our website and our twitter. But more importantly, you need to run for political office as a Republican. And the opportunities to do so are wide open, as the Republican Party often cannot even field candidates in urban areas. We want African-Americans, and immigrants from Africa and the Caribbean to run for office. We are not just welcoming you to our greatness, we want you to help lead our greatness.

And the more you believe in God, and the more you want a return to family values and personal responsibility, the more you need to run for office AND support our cause. If you are against substance abuse and if you are disgusted with the sexual immorality of America, even better. I am calling upon YOU to run. You must run. You must post your testimonial on our website. Email it to me at info@thewelcomemovement.com.

The artists and entertainers, and all their allies in the protest communities nationwide, and are going to be just shocked at where the challenge is coming from, who is leading it, and what beliefs are advancing. They think that the blue States, and especially the inner cities in the blue States, are “wrapped up and secure”. They are mistaken. The attack is coming. And instead of attacking Democrats, we are warming up to Democrats, especially immigrants and minorities in the inner cities. We are welcoming them over; we are addressing their concerns. The Faith community, with rare exceptions, is already inclusive and openly condemning of racism and discrimination. Reform is not needed there. It’s already complete, and it’s our strongest base. The media and the artists community choose to marginalize them, or to portray them as bigoted.

We are showing African-Americans that the Faith community are their best allies, NOT the artists and entertainers, and NOT the Socialists and gender fanatics. We are shuffling the deck of cards that constitutes the interest groups, the alliances, and the political parties they support. This is all very dangerous. We know it, and we want to do it.

Donald Trump is just a warm-up act in the making of America great. He’s addressing some big picture issues involving international relations, trade, and tariffs. This is all good stuff that we support. We are not going to criticize Donald Trump on this website. We are laying out our agenda, and it’s quite clear where we differ from President Trump, both in substance and in tone. That’s criticism enough.

We are not going to criticize Democrats or Democratic politicians either. Why not?

Read the top line on the home page. We want to end the political hate war. We want as many Democrats as possible to come over to our side, and the more fanatical that the Far Left becomes, the more people will come over. We are all about welcoming and inclusion. Remember, we are shuffling the deck.

Our criticism falls squarely where it should be, which is on the Entertainment, Media, Fashion, and Advertising industries. That’s whom we criticize. We confront them, and we challenge their hegemony over the direction of values in America. We show where they are wrong and why they are wrong. What we don’t do is curse, raise our voices, or threaten. We are the mature responsible adult voices, and we come in all colors and from all backgrounds. We want to be the spiritual leaders of America, and this entire website will remain a no-hate zone. We have to identify the real problem in America, as calmly and passively as possible, and it’s those four industries. And we’re not just complaining, we’re laying out an entire vision for change.

The protest community will come to realize that our passive inclusive tactics are actually the strongest possible method of protesting or complaining. I never protested on the steps of city hall in Newark, and I told my organization and my followers to avoid their protests and to shun their lambasting tactics and Socialist rhetoric. Instead I wrote public policy, and I calmly and professionally advocated for change at the microphone at Newark city council meetings. I was way more effective than any protestor. I was the very last person in Newark that the city council wanted at that microphone. The calmer I was, the more they feared me.

The more African-Americans that are in the Republican Party as candidates and elected officials, the more that the Party will address the needs of the working class. And when legislation is proposed, we as a block of Republican Populist elected officials will vote as a block. We will not support bad Republican legislation, if it is proposed, and we will support positive Democratic legislation, when proposed. We will essentially be a block of moderates. Our positions on legislation will be made abundantly clear, so as to strongly influence even the introduction of legislation.

In most States, a block of moderates as small as 10% can effectively decide what legislation passes and what legislation fails. And that’s how we win. That’s how good laws are passed, and that is how public policy is changed. And no amount of arm-twisting by Party bosses is going to make a difference, because our mission is change within the Republican Party. We openly state it, and we declare our reforms on our home page. We will be strong as a block. The extremes on the Right will lose strength as Republican Populism advances, and the extremes on the Left will also lose strength as more people support us, and more people leave the Democratic Party.

Basically the Democratic Party will shrink to 1/3 of it’s size, and that 1/3 will be an elitist Far Left led by artists and entertainers. They can scream all they want about their gender wars, but they won’t be able to hold onto many elected seats anywhere. The elitism of the Democratic Party will attract some of the wealthy from the Republican side who are unhappy that the political center is rising to dominate the Republican side of the aisle. That’s how the deck is going to reshuffle.

The rise of the mighty center is coming. The political extremes of both Parties will be reigned in. We are not just talking about ending the political hate game of left versus right in America. We have a real vision and a real battle plan to do it, AND we are doing it. The political hate game will be thrown into the dustbin of political failures. How did anyone in the 2010’s think that a political victory is best won by advocating hate of the other political party, or of other races, backgrounds, and religions? That’s a fair criticism of both political parties now, and that is what everyone will believe in the future.

Welcome African-Americans, welcome to our greatness. And welcome to Republican Populism. And when people ask why you are Republican, you have an answer. You are a Republican because you support Republican Populism and the Welcome Movement. Thank you, and may God Bless America, and all of humanity.
