JOHN, New York  #WelcomeMovement

3/18/2021

My name is John Goodman. I live in Staten Island, NY. I changed my party affiliation to republican after listening to Ronald Reagan speak about how "fascism will come to America thru liberalism." He was so right judging by the events in today's political climate. Here is Reagan’s own words: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-T8oC8SLFI

I believe in doing for yourself, and uniting all of the world’s cultures via hard work. And I like the welcome movements message that speaks to that. In my life I've faced hardship and prosperity. And I believe Black Americans can turn around their cycle of crime ridden neighborhoods jail, and unemployment when they begin again to respect the worker and the conservatives of their culture and in turn the worker and conservatives of all cultures. The welcome movement speaks of that in its language and mission statements.

I discovered welcome movement on Facebook and its member Eric Martindale by joining his group and befriending him as well there. I believe in all of America. That all cultures ought to be represented and they all should be. This is done by strong citizens whom decide to work and produce during their lives. And every man and woman are capable of doing this. So, every culture can produce on this planet no excuses. I believe America is fit for everyone and class needs to be taught in our schools that capitalism is far better government philosophy than socialism, and communism.

Thank you.

OUR PRESENT SITUATION!

Children of Congress members do not have to pay back their college student loans.

Staffers of Congress family members are also exempt from having to pay back student loans.

Members of Congress can retire at full pay after only one term.

Members of Congress have exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed, under which ordinary citizens must live.

For example, they are exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment.

And as the latest example, they have exempted themselves from Healthcare Reform, in all of its aspects.

We must not tolerate an elite class of such people, elected as public servants and then putting themselves above the law.

I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent, or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon their states. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

If each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three days most people in The United States of America will have the message.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:
"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the Citizens of the United States...”

This is an idea that should be passed around, regardless of political party.

Congressional Reform Act of 2017

1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. And, no more perks go with them.

2. Congress (past, present, & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress must purchase their own retirement plan, just as ALL Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people (i.e. NO MORE INSIDER TRADING!!!).

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts by and for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor and privilege NOT a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work … not get all kinds of freebies.

Hello everyone, my name is Lidya. I live in New York City. I am providing this testimonial in support of Eric Martindale and the Welcome Movement.

I have known Eric Martindale since about 2011. I used to live in New Jersey. Eric, myself, and many others worked to pass bipartisan state legislation in New Jersey, Senate bill S-2018. This bill was sponsored by Democratic State Senator Brian Stack (D- Hudson), and signed into law by Republican Governor Chris Christie in 2014. This new law was my idea, but Eric was instrumental in helping flesh it out, and getting key groups to support it, ultimately leading to sponsorship by Senator Stack. This law says that if a tenant is successful in any action against a landlord, the landlord will pay the tenant’s attorney’s fees and expenses, if the lease has reserved the same right for the landlord.

Prior to the passage of Senate bill S-2018, some unethical landlords were inflicting unlawful evictions on tenants; to drive them from their homes with frivolous litigation, as happened to me and others. There was little to stop landlords from harassing tenants with repeated litigation, knowing that tenants couldn’t afford to keep fighting in court, and taking days off from work. Although tenant-rights legislation is not normally supported by Republican legislators, it turned out that abusing and manipulating the legal system with frivolous litigation is something inherently hostile to Republican thinking. The landlords tried and failed to generate support from Republican legislators in New Jersey to defeat this legislation. Eric, myself, and many other men and women, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, worked together to enact this new law, because it was the right thing to do.

Today, Eric Martindale feels that he is called into public service again.

He feels that the Republican Party has an opportunity to welcome into the Republican Party men and women who walked away from the Democrat Party and that the Republican Party should be articulating reasons for their inclusion. In Eric’s webpage, the “Welcome Movement”, he presents ideas and reasons to consider, with an eye towards joining the Republican Party.

Of note in the “Welcome Movement” web pages is Eric’s plan to empower the tenants of America’s cities with home ownership. Eric has witnessed the fact that some families get stuck as tenants, when they would like to own homes instead, because housing is too expensive. Eric’s housing plan, detailed on www.thewelcomemovement.com, shows how tenants can become homeowners, and, amazingly cut their living expenses in half. Eric’s housing plan is an innovative, entrepreneurial business plan, not a big-government welfare program.

I encourage you to learn more about Eric Martindale’s “Welcome Movement”, engage in robust debate with Eric and his supporters, and support the “Welcome Movement”.

I live in New Jersey and I am a member of the National Liberty Alliance (NLA), a libertarian organization.

I like that The Welcome Movement seeks to expose all forms of corruption, and wants power back in the hands of the people. Some of their proposals are very interesting to me.

Their proposed reforms, listed on the right column of their home page, contain a section called “End the Deep State, Follow the US Constitution”. What’s listed there is not a 100% match to the libertarian movement, but it’s very close. There’s a voice here that deserves a wider public audience. Their overall theme is that government is too large, too out of control, and too imposing upon the citizens, and that I am in total agreement.

The Welcome Movement has a detailed plan in their “Neighborhood Council” page to create local government within cities such as Newark, New Jersey. Their stated plan to change the relationship of the neighborhoods with government from top down to bottom up has my support. The inefficient central governments in many urban centers are rife with corruption and no-show jobs, and distant from the needs of the struggling neighborhoods. This is something that could potentially have the support of the NLA.

The Welcome Movement has a “Housing” page which aims to provide affordable housing at no cost to the taxpayer. I was initially skeptical, but upon review I think it might actually work. The Democrats are never going to bring pre-fabricated homes into the cities and sell them as owner-occupied housing because it cuts out the labor unions, and because homeowners are less likely to support their politics. The more people are poor and stuck as tenants, the further Left their politics drifts. This is a realistic housing plan, and I agree that home ownership encourages personal responsibility, and reduces support for Socialism.

I believe there is potential to engage urban residents, including many immigrant groups, with the libertarian cause. I see connections, I see potential. Many of the libertarian thinkers are in suburban and rural areas, and we want to engage as many citizens as possible. The idea that libertarian causes can be defined in the urban areas is something that needs to be much further explored. I am eager to see the development of The Welcome Movement.

My name is Mary. I live in New Jersey, and I am a Catholic. I am an immigrant from Africa, and I am legal. I love this website. I like the values listed on the left column of the website home page. Many are spiritual values that I can see in believers of different religions. I did not know these were American values from generations ago in America. Many older Americans are kind and well-spoken. I wish more young people had these values.

I like the right column reforms for the Republican Party. I am reading the list, and this is how our elected officials should be. Both Republicans and Democrats.

America needs to be more Faith oriented, and more people need to love one another. Jesus taught us to love everyone and to help those in need, and to forgive. If everyone thought this way, America would be a better place. There would be less crime, less people would be unhappy, and there would be less problems. More young people need to study, and plan for their future, and get married before having children.

I support the changes outlined on the website for the Republicans, especially to be more welcoming to immigrants and minorities, to create more opportunities for people to own homes that aren’t too expensive, and to reduce banking costs. Day care costs make it hard to work and have a family, unless you make a lot of money. All of your income goes to day care costs.

If elected Republicans show that they are true believers by their statements, their policies, and their personal character, we will like them more. Democrats want to reduce the role of God in America, that is the main thing they stand for. They want us to listen to singers and actors who are not believers in God. Some of them ridicule believers. This concerns me. This is the wrong direction. We don’t have same-sex marriage in Africa either. I wish America never made that change. It is against God.

Immigrants come to America because they love it, and to better themselves and the lives of those they leave behind in their homelands. Many send money back to their country, to help their relatives. This shows our family commitment, our family values. We sacrifice our own money that we could use for clothes and eating out and new cars, to help our relatives who are poor. That is what Jesus taught. We do it.

Immigrants all want to succeed, own homes, and start businesses. We have a stronger work ethic than Americans. Some are lazy and want to live off of relatives. They just want to relax, smoke marijuana, enjoy their boyfriends or girlfriends, and listen to music. They keep their places dirty and their clothes and stuff covers the floor. They go to sleep at 2 or 3AM, and wake up at noon or later the next day. I never would have guessed that people in America here are like this. It’s a shame. I know some people like this, and they are the same people that hate Republicans. They are born in America, and don’t understand how lucky they are to have been born here. And then they complain about America, while not even working hard. Why should I agree with their politics, when I think they are lazy and not mature.

I am starting to realize that a lot of what I think is what Republicans think, but I am not ready to say that I will vote Republican. The Republicans need to respect me. They don’t respect me. I feel it. They think badly of immigrants. They don’t understand us. We come to America because we love America. And they need to address the economic needs of working people. Immigrants should be welcomed. We are good for America. I agree if more feel welcomed by the Republicans, more will support them.

I will read this website in much more detail. I wish someone would do this for the Democratic Party too.
